Angel Carroll is a graduate of Texas Tech University. She has personal experience in the foster care and juvenile justice systems and is dedicated to improving outcomes for youth in Texas who are system involved. Angel began her advocacy when she testified The Supreme Court of Texas & Texas Court of Criminal Appeals at the historic, first-ever, joint session advocating a statewide commission as a foundation for collaboration among judges, policy makers, and mental-health experts. Angel was later appointed to the Collaborative Council and Dual Status Task Force for the Judicial Commission on Mental Health. Advocating for change Angel has been a keynote speaker and panelist for organizations such as SAFE Alliance Austin, Williamson County Juvenile Justice Services, and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Most recently Governor Greg Abbott appointed Angel to the Texas Juvenile Justice Advisory Board. This advisory board offer recommendations to the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division on programs and preventative solutions.
