Cecilia is originally from Peru and joined the Survivors Project and Clemency teams in Fall 2020 to continue supporting social justice initiatives. Most recently, she graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Global Energy & International Arbitration from the University of Texas School of Law. Cecilia was also awarded a scholarship from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation 2019-2020. During her time at the University of Texas, she was actively involved in different Pro Bono activities, being recognized with a Beacon award for the many hours she dedicated over the year at the Texas Law School.
Previously, Cecilia worked as In-House Counsel for almost eight years at PERU LNG, one of the largest energy projects in Latin America, where she also advised the company to implement the Corporate Social Responsibility Plan under the IFC Standards from the World Bank.
She has a strong commitment to helping those in need and underserved populations. She speaks English and Spanish. She also loves flamenco dance and enjoys outdoors activities.
