Second Look Summit November 30, 2018 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Every year in Texas more than 20,000 youth are arrested and charged as adults. Currently, 6,500 people are in Texas state prisons for crimes they committed before they could legally vote. The Lone Star Justice Alliance and its partners, the Texas Inmate Family Association, American Civil Liberties Union, the Campaign for Youth Justice, R Street, Epicenter, reVision, Texas Criminal Justice Coalition, and the Campaign for Fair Sentencing of Youth will host the 2nd Annual Second Look Summit. This Summit brings together families of those currently and formerly incarcerated, formerly incarcerated youth, survivors of crime, and community stakeholders to discuss the incarceration of youth in Texas prisons.
