Samantha Powers is a senior at Northwestern University majoring in Political Science and Journalism. As passionate writer and advocate, she has spent her undergraduate career at the intersection of communications and advocacy in the criminal justice reform space. Last fall, she spent four months abroad studying the prison system in Copenhagen, and she hopes that eventually all prisons might come to resemble the rehabilitative model set by the Nordic countries. A native Austinite, she enjoys spending her free time at Barton Springs, Torchy’s Tacos, or any coffee shop that enables her chai latte obsession.
