Sophie Primeaux

Youth Sentencing Project Intern

Sophie Primeaux is in her last semester of law school at the University of Texas. While at Texas Law, she developed a passion for youth justice. She has previously interned with the Juvenile Defense Unit at the Shelby County Public Defender’s Office, as well as participating in the Juvenile Justice Clinic at Texas Law. She is particularly interested in how the justice system systematically strips black and brown youth of their childhood. Before attending law school, she earned a B.A. in History, with a correlate in Women’s Studies from Vassar College. Sophie enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Gracie and Shake, visiting her family in New Orleans, and the New York Times Crossword.
